Born and raised in Orange County, California, actor/producer Edward Singletary, Jr., began his career on the stage. His regional theatrical credits include The Big Knife, Oliver, and Death of a Salesman. He co-starred in the feature film Thank You, Good Night, with Mark Hamill and Sally Kirkland, and in a national anti-crystal methamphetamine campaign directed by Joel Schumacher. Edward studied for years with with legendary acting teacher David LeGrant and now teaches at both the The California Conservatory of The Arts and The David LeGrant Studio. As a producer, he has worked on the films Sunday Afternoons, directed by Erin Daniels, The Marionettes, and Delphinium: A Childhood Portrait of Derek Jarman, an official selection of the 2009 Raindance Film Festival, Frameline San Francisco Film Festival, and BFI London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, among others. In 2011, Delphinium was acquired by the British Film Institute for preservation in the National Film Archive. Later that year, Mr. Singletary produced the 35mm feature film, Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean, in which he also co-starred. In 2008, he formed the production shingle Iconoclastic Features with filmmaker Matthew Mishory. The company launched at the Sundance Film Festival, and Edward is producing several features, including Portland, Jarman, and a New Wave rock film. He splits his time between Los Angeles and Laguna Beach, California.
